You may remember this wonderful couple, Lauren and Jeremie, from a fun, country themed, engagement session this fall. We’ve grown to know Lauren and Jeremie better and are so excited to have had the opportunity to be there with them during this special day. At one point during Lauren and Jeremie’s wedding, the videographer turned to Hank and I and told us wedding portraits usually didn’t go this smoothly. He mentioned how we seemed to know the entire family and it made it easier to gather the groupings. What a compliment! Lauren is the third sister in a large family who’s weddings we’ve photographed. It’s so neat to get to know families and to capture special moments for them.

Lauren and Jeremie’s wedding was uniquely them. The ceremony took place in the beautiful First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, followed by their reception downtown at the Union Station Train Shed. We had so much fun hanging out with Lauren and all of her bridesmaids and Jeremie and his great family and friends. Thanks Lauren and Jeremie!

Lola and Folarin were married in Tampa, Florida last month surrounded by friends and family who had travelled far and wide to witness their special day. While both of their lives have been filled with their own journeys all over the world, the most important and thrilling journey is the one they are embarking on together. I’m excited for the future they have together and can’t wait to hear their stories one day.

This was a very special wedding to me because I photographed Lola’s older sister, Folake’s wedding, which was my first wedding filled with nigerian customs. I was able to spend a little bit of time with Lola to learn more about some of the customs and the special meaning of the day. It was so wonderful to see their family and to see a lot of familiar faces from Folake’s wedding. Special thanks to Kimberly of  Kimberly Hensley Events for her help and great organizational skills! Also to Victor for second shooting. And of course to my great right-hand-man Hank :)

This blog should have been written a long time ago. A lot of weddings, time and mommyhood got in the way. But that’s not what’s important. This little girl, Juniper is what’s important. In fact she’s so important that her mom wrote an amazing story about the start of her life. I hope you read it. But be warned, you’ll need tissues :)

This session with sweet Rosalind took place at her home a few weeks ago. We were able to use the beautiful light in her family’s home to capture these cute images. Rosalind was just so easy to work with. I can tell she’s going to be a joy watching grow up!

Maxine just joined a wonderful family with a big brother to watch over her. This session took place at her home in Tampa a few weeks ago. Maxine is just such a  cute, sweet baby. She’s also well accessorized. What I love about these sessions is that I’m able to travel to each family to photograph their babies in the comfort of their home. It makes a difference especially when they’re this young since most parents are not getting a lot of sleep.

Way back when I was single and had more free time I volunteered at Happy Workers Children’s Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. I spent a lot of time in the classroom of one special teacher Shirley Collins. This past December when I was dropping something off at the center I ran into Shirley again, who told me she was getting married. It was such an honor for me to be able to witness the love between her and her great husband, Anthony.

Shirley and Anthony were married in a sweet ceremony this February. They were surrounded by family and friends, who were there to witness their devotion to each other. It was a blessed day.

Kristen and Paul’s wedding day was so much fun. They were surrounded by such great friends and family. You could see the love throughout the day. The day started out at the Hampton Inn & Suites where the girls were getting ready. The guys got ready at the Vinoy. We all soon headed over to St. Therese Byzantine Catholic Church for their beautiful ceremony. When the doors opened and Paul saw Kristen for the first time in her gorgeous dress, you could see his beaming smile radiating with love for her. From the ceremony, we went to the reception at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg for their fun filled evening. The band, 10th Concession knew how to keep the night rocking. They were so great. Special thanks to Victor Junco who was such a great second shooter!

Shannon and Andy’s wedding was simply fun. It was such a great honor to be there in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to witness their marriage and to capture all of the fun moments from the day. I especially loved getting to know all of the special people in “Shandy’s” lives. Shannon is Hank’s cousin and she’s just a doll. She’s got a huge heart and cares for everybody around her. Genuine could be her middle name.

When we first met Andy we knew he was perfect for Shannon. He’s got a witty sense of humor and seems to fit in with the Campbell clan so well. We’re excited to have a new family member in the bunch and to know that Shannon and Andy are caring for each other with equal amounts of love.

This has to be one of the most amazing birthday parties I’ve ever photographed. When Sandy at Sandy Rule Events told me there were going to be a lot of great details she wasn’t kidding. The work that went into planning on her part was just fantastic. The eye she has for planning events like this is just a sign of her keen eye for details I found myself going back to each table throughout the night to see what I had missed the first time around in terms of details. From the musical log game to having Vernon Yates talk about wild animals, the entire evening was fun.

To say that Cash is loved by his family is an understatement. The amount of joy his parents had on their faces throughout the night was priceless. As they watched him and his friends have such a good time you could also feel their love resonating throughout the campground.

Cash is one special little boy. I hope he looks back on these photos one day when he’s grown up and sees what a wonderful childhood he had. Happy Birthday to Cash!
